About the Photographer
.
This collection of pictures has built up since I bought my first
digital SLR in 2005. This was an Olympus E1 with a 50-200mm
telephoto and later the 1.4x TC. The pleasure of seeing pictures
instantly and the many excellent qualities of this camera fuelled
an increasing interest in modern style photography.
.
Initial subjects for me were fairly ordinary but an increasing interest
in astronomy meant rather more distant targets! An opportunity
to take some decent bird photographs on a holiday in Mull led to
me developing this area and spending more time birding generally.

There has since been a fairly inevitable and well trodden path
to a Canon system for increased light sensitivity, better auto-focus
and a greater range of more affodable lenses. The ability to take
some reasonable bird photographs has given a lot of pleasure
and I'm gradually expanding the range of things I take on.
Here I struggle to figure out why Canon make its

lenses this bright white colour... ;-)
